About this debt and credit guide
Borrowology is a free reference for a global audience. It explains debt payoff and credit reports in plain language. The payoff math is ordinary interest and is not tied to one country. When a guide cites a statute, it names the country that law belongs to. The sample dispute letter follows the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which is United States law.
Two tools do the practical part:
- The debt payoff calculator shows how long a few balances take to clear, and how much interest each way of paying costs.
- The credit report dispute letter is a letter you can send to a credit bureau about an item you believe is wrong.
Both tools run in your browser. What you type is not sent to Borrowology, and there is no account to create.
What this site is not
Borrowology is not a lender, a credit bureau, or a law firm. Nothing here is financial advice or legal advice. A letter cannot force a bureau to delete information that is accurate, and the calculator cannot promise a credit score.
